Some previews for the Zebulon show.

Here are a couple of nice mentions for our Record Release show this Sunday

Feb. 26: White Out celebrates the release of its subtle and powerful fifth album, “Asphalt and Delay.” Formed in 1995, this genre-defying duo—Tom Surgal, on percussion, and Lin Culbertson, on synthesizers, voice, and flute—is known for frequent collaborations with more prominent but equally adventurous musicians, such as Thurston Moore and Jim O’Rourke. The improvised songs on the record move seamlessly between richly textured, almost delicate moments and dense, noisy climaxes. For this show, the Swedish guitarist Anders Nilsson will be their guest. The gentle avant-blues guitar master Loren Connors opens.

White Out Record Release Show
Local experimental twosome White Out (composed of Tom Surgal and Lin Culbertson) offer this free evening of musicality at Zebulon in support of their latest album, Asphalt and Delay. The duo have an off-kilter sound that speaks to their anti-establishment roots—exactly the sort of thing you'd expect from the kinds of folks who've previously collaborated with the likes of Thurston Moore and Jim O'Rourke.
